Job Scope: To ensure the academic quality and operational efficiency of the Vietnamese programme in Hanoi region under the direct supevisor of the Manager - Academic Operations (Vietnamese Programme). The Deputy Manager assists the Manager with the deployment of academic operations, curriculum development and instructional delivery of the Vietnamese education programme of schools in Hanoi under KinderWorld Vietnam’s system.

1.      Context

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and local government are responding to the needs of coastal communities that are chronically affected by coastal hazards and who have lost lives, livelihoods, and assets to regularly occurring cyclones in Binh Dinh and Quang Nam province through the La Chan Xanh project. The project goal is to reduce the vulnerability of coastal communities to natural hazards such as cyclones, flooding, and tidal surges. Project activities focus on strengthening DRR preparedness and response for local people, capacity building on CBDRR for commune- and district-level officials and civil society organizations, schools in the targeted areas as well as facilitating a process of local government’s integration of DRR in to development plans and budget.

"Lords of Poverty" was published in 1989, There had been lively debate surrounding it then. After 25 years later, the topic is being repeated, which shows that its caught the interest of a new generation of development workers. But its not a new subject by any means. The introductory poem in the book might ring some bells"

We are pleased to announce the creation of Anthropology & Archaeology Research Network (AARN). It will provide a worldwide, online community for research in all areas of anthropology and archaeology, following the model of other subject matter networks within SSRN.

We expect AARN to become a comprehensive online resource for research in anthropology and archaeology, providing scholars with access to current work in their field and facilitating research and scholarship.

AARN's founding director is:

Louise Lamphere, Distinguished Professor of Anthropology Emerita, University of New Mexico and Past President of the American Anthropological Association
