I am saddened by the news that Bach Viet is no longer with us, with the Vietnam and greater IFP families. Viet is outstanding among the IFP fellows in many aspects. He was, I think, the fellow that had hardest tried to overcome the obstacles to be recognized as most qualified for the IFP program, to be successful in the program at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, and to play a leading role in the disability rights movement in Vietnam.
I strongly believe that his legacy lives on, not only in our hearts, but also in our common cause for social justice, especially for the ones in disadvantaged communities. And last but not least, he offered us an example of seeing life through an optimist worldview with a great sense of humour. He did SEE things through!
Thank you chi Minh for the opportunity to share my thoughts with you and our IFP family. Best,
Nguyen Vu Tung
